Ecommerce Europe and the eCommerce Association in Bosnia and Herzegovina are joining forces

Ecommerce Europe and the eCommerce Association in BiH, the largest European and the largest Bosnia and Herzegovina e-commerce association, have joined forces. This partnership was made official on September 1, 2022. and it is the first of its kind in our country.

The idea of joining came from the eCommerce Association in BiH, its executive director Belma Agić revealed to us: “I am very happy that we will finally have access to the best European practices and represent the common interests of the digital trade industry from Bosnia and Herzegovina in this body.

“Membership in Ecommerce Europe is a key step for the Bosnian eCommerce market,” he adds. “This membership gives us access to the European eCommerce environment and is a necessary and natural step to support BiH online retailers and to improve the eCommerce ecosystem in our country,” Ms. Agić pointed out.

The eCommerce Association in BiH was founded to be a strong voice of the eCommerce sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in just six months, over 50 members and partners joined it, and they cooperate with all eCommerce associations from the region. A number of initiatives have also been launched to build consumer confidence in e-commerce, to create standards for customer service, to improve the efficiency of logistics services and to improve protection and security in online shopping and online payments. Representatives of this association are already involved in the work of several commissions as part of programs and projects in Ecommerce Europe.

On this occasion, the Secretary General of Ecommerce Europe, Luca Cassetti, said: “We are very happy to have the opportunity to welcome the eCommerce Association in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We are convinced that, by sharing our knowledge, our current members will have the opportunity to learn more about this market and its specificities. At the same time, the eCommerce association in BiH will participate in our activities related to EU public affairs and use the information collected at the level of Ecommerce Europe to further support the transition of Bosnian companies before joining the European Union. Ecommerce Europe welcomes the joining of eCommerce associations from candidate countries for membership in the EU, and the eCommerce association in Bosnia and Herzegovina is the first to join us.”
