On Sunday, February 13, 2022, the Burch Start Me Up High School competition for high school students was held. The aim of this competition is to bring young people together from all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina and teach them about entrepreneurship through various activities and workshops. Through the competition, high school students formed their business ideas and worked on them through 3 modules.
Our Executive Director, Belma Ljuta Agić, attended the final pitch presentations of the Burch Start Me Up High School competition that was held at the International Burch University ,as a member of the jury. The jury was composed of professionals from the world of innovation and entrepreneurship, and Belma gladly accepted the invitation to evaluate the final presentations of young innovators. The jury also included Amra Omeragić from Finance in motion BiH, Dajana Džindo from the 787 Foundation and Senad Šantić representing company called ZenDev, which is also our partner.
At this competition high school students showed creativity and presented their great ideas. Among the best were the teams:
- MetaFour whose idea is a software that allows you to translate speech into sign language and vice versa
- Soft Robotics with its idea of new technology for creating better equipment for firefighters and rescuers, which would play a significant role in rescuing in collapsed buildings
- Roomie that have an idea for an application that will connect renters and students but also make it easier to find roommates
International Burch University has awarded the best teams with valuable prizes. 48,000 KM was distributed to the best ideas, which should enabled the first steps in the implementation and development of the products.
Young entrepreneurs simply left everyone present delighted, and these are the words of our Executive Director:
